GROUP RIDE GUIDELINES.

Ride together. Ride smart.
Ride your own ride.

RIDE SAFE
01

THIS IS NOT A RACE.

Everyone arriving home safely is the win.

No matter which group you ride with, always ride at a pace you are comfortable with. Never ride beyond your ability simply to keep up with another rider.

SHOW UP READY.

02
01

BIKE CONDITION

Your motorcycle must be in good working condition. Tires should be in good shape and the motorcycle must have no fluid leaks.

If your bike does not meet these requirements, you will not be allowed to participate.
02

REQUIRED GEAR

At a minimum, every rider must wear:

  • Helmet
  • Motorcycle jacket
  • Gloves
  • Closed-toe footwear
Riders without minimum safety gear cannot participate.
03

EMERGENCY CONTACT

Please provide your emergency contact information to a member of the PHX Ducati leadership team before participating in the ride.

SAFETY FIRST

RIDER'S MEETING.

Every PHX Ducati group ride begins with a rider's meeting.

Ride rules, route information, group assignments, safety procedures and any special instructions will be reviewed before departure.

If anything is unclear, this is the time to ask your Ride Captain.

THREE GROUPS. ONE CLUB.

SPORTING PACE
REGARDLESS OF GROUP
RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE.

STAGGERED FORMATION.

04
TRAVEL DIRECTION • STAY LEFT OF CENTER
01

STAY STAGGERED

Riders travel in alternating left and right positions within the same lane rather than directly behind one another.

02

FILL THE SPACE

If the formation becomes unstaggered, move forward and fill the open position.

03

FOLLOWING DISTANCE

Maintain enough distance from the rider ahead that you have time to react safely if they suddenly slow or stop.

PASS WITH CONTROL.

05
01

ASSESS

Before passing, make sure it is safe and legal. Check traffic, road conditions and surrounding riders.

02

SIGNAL

Use your indicators so riders and drivers understand your intentions before you begin the maneuver.

03

GIVE SPACE

Maintain safe separation from the rider you are passing. Never pass unnecessarily close.

04

STAY CONTROLLED

Pass at a safe and controlled speed. Avoid excessive acceleration, aggressive maneuvers or weaving.

05

SHOW RESPECT

Reckless passing creates unnecessary danger and tension within the group.

06

NEVER

No inside passes.
No same-lane passes.

WHEN IN DOUBT, DO NOT PASS.

KNOW THE SIGNALS.

06
01

LEFT TURN

Arm and hand extended left, palm facing down.

02

RIGHT TURN

Left arm extended outward and bent upward approximately 90 degrees with a closed fist.

03

SLOW DOWN

Arm extended downward with palm facing down, signaling riders behind you to reduce speed.

04

ROAD HAZARD

Point toward the hazard with your left hand or right foot depending on its location.

05

COPS AHEAD

Tap the top of your helmet with an open palm facing down.

SPEAK UP.

Safety is everyone's responsibility.

If you feel another rider is riding in a manner that is unsafe to themselves or others, bring the matter directly to a Ride Captain or Club Officer.

DO NOT confront another rider yourself about the incident.

Club leadership will handle the situation appropriately.

MEET CLUB LEADERSHIP
